Paddy Phelan
Manager

BE, MIEI, CPM, CMVP

Paddy is an UCD Engineering Graduate with 16 years engineering experience in project and contract management in construction. He worked at Tipp Energy Agency then progressed to Senior Engineer in 2011. Appointed Manager of the Carlow Kilkenny Energy Agency now 3CEA in September 2012. Previous Member of board of SEAI.  Member of executive committees IRBEA, MnaG (IWFA) 2013 Chairman of AIEA since 2015 and winner of several awards local, regional and national.

 

Alex Hamilton
Senior Engineer

BA, BAI, MSc, CEM, MIEI

Alex joined 3CEA in October 2015 after 3-years as an energy engineer with Tipperary Energy Agency. She hold a First Class Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Engineering from WIT, and an Honours Degree in Civil Engineering (BA, BAI) from Trinity College Dublin. Alex is also a Certified Energy Manager, accredited by the Association of Energy Engineers, and is a Registered Energy Auditor with SEAI.

She is highly experienced in implementing projects in the public, private and community sectors relating to energy efficiency and renewable technologies. Alex specialises in community energy projects and project managing grant funding programmes. She also has vast experience working on EU funded projects.

Alex also works on behalf of SEAI as Partnership Support Mentor (PSM) to public sector bodies and as a Monitoring & Reporting expert, assisting local authorities to meet their statutory obligations in relation to SI 426 of 2014.

Jane Wickham
Energy Engineer

BSc, MSc, MIEI

Jane has been with the 3 Counties Energy Agency since 2008. She is involved in the development of renewable energy and energy management projects in both counties. In 2006, she completed a Masters Degree in Renewable Energy & the Environment from Reading University, UK. She has also completed a Certificate in Project Management from Carlow IT.

Declan Keogh
Energy Engineer

Declan rejoined 3CEA as Graduate Energy Engineer in May 2013 having worked on job bridge in 2012 with CKEA. In May 2015 Declan was appointed as Energy Engineer with specific responsibilities in Public Sector Supports. Declan implemented the first EPRP in 2014 for public lighting and is currently leading a team to develop the first EPC for streetlighting in Kilkenny in 2016. Declan holds an honours degree in Building Services Engineering from DIT Bolton St and a Masters of Science in Energy Management from DIT Kevin St.

Shane Faulkner
Energy Engineer

BSc B Eng

Shane joined 3CEA in July 2016 having worked in the Oil & Gas Industry with Petrofac Ltd in Scotland since graduating from Limerick IT (2009) and Edinburgh Napier University(2011) with degree's in Renewable Energy Systems & Environmental Engineering respectively. Shane is now head of Project Delivery within 3CEA having helped deliver consecutive successful BEC applications since arriving,and he also assists the team with Energy Auditing and Consultancy projects. Shane is now a Certified Energy Manager with Project Management credentials (APMP) with experience across our Private , Public and Community portfolio.

In his personal life Shane is an avid traveler having been to over 35 countries around the world, plays Gaelic Football with his homeclub and somehow finds enjoyment in undertaking adventure races around the country

Fintan O'Hora
Energy Engineer

Msc. (See), B.Eng. B.SC. CEA, CEM, MIEI, MAEE

Fintan joined 3CEA in December 2017 and is focused on energy auditing and project delivery. He is a highly motivated Energy Engineering professional who has gained valuable experience across a variety of sectors including both the Public and Private sectors over the last 30 years. A certified energy manager and energy auditor who is highly experienced in SI426 audits, implementing projects in the public, private and community sectors relating to energy efficiency and renewable technologies. Fintan holds a BSc. in Maths and Physics, a B.Eng. in Energy and Environmental Engineering along with a first class honours Master's Degree in Sustainable Energy Engineering from WIT. 

Fergal Cantwell
Clerk of Works

BSc

Fergal is involved in BEC and housing projects, client and contractor liaising and project management. Fergal has over twenty years of experience in the construction industry. Experienced in site supervision and management. A qualified BER Assessor and holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Energy Management (Buildings). 

John Smyth
Junior Energy Engineer

BE, LEED GA

John recently graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Energy Engineering from UCC and is currently completing a MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering in WIT while working with 3CEA. John is part of the Local Authorities team and is working across a wide range of projects including providing energy management services for Carlow County Council, completing several SI 426 building audits and completing a renewable wind energy feasibility study for different projects.

 

Colm O'Mahony
Junior Energy Engineer

MSc BSc

Colm joined 3CEA in June. He is a recent MSc graduate from Waterford Institute of Technology, where he studied Sustainable Energy Engineering. He also holds a BSc (Honours) in Energy Management and a BSc (Ordinary) in Sustainable Building &Renewable Energy from Limerick Institute technology. Colm has experience within the construction industry, supervising in the delivery of bespoke renovations and extensions within the domestic sector. Within the 3CEA, Colm assists in analysing energy consumption across various sectors, generating detailed technical reports for numerous building types.

Ricky O'Brien
Junior Energy Engineer

MSc BSc

Ricky joined 3CEA in June 2018. He has worked in the Public Sector in the UK and has 11 years’ experience in a construction-related role in Ireland. Ricky has worked in the Energy Management sector since 2015, with a focus on ISO50001 and the Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme (EEOS) in particular. Ricky holds a Bachelor of Science honours degree in Environmental & Natural Resource Management from LIT as well as a Master of Science degree in Sustainable Resource Management – Policy and Practise from NUI Galway. Ricky’s responsibilities within the 3CEA team include the development of renewable energy and energy management projects within the three counties, with specific responsibilities in Public Sector Supports.

Sian Crane
Administrator

BSc

Sian looks after office administration and grant applications. She also supports the marketing department in event management, sponsorships and exhibitors. She works closely with engineers ensuring that all documentation for submissions required and deadlines are met. Sian has also a key role in the company as First Aid officer and the day to day running of the office.

Mari-Liis Romulus
Marketing & Events

MSc BSc

Mari-Liis has previous experience in digital marketing and web project management. She looks after marketing and communication activities, web support and event management. Mari-Liis holds first class Master’s degree in Business Management and Marketing from TUT.

Kristen Campion
Accounts

Cert. Accounts

Kristen joined 3CEA in May 2013 through the TUS programme. She looks after accounts administrator with responsibility for accounts, invoices and accounts management in the day to day of running a non profit for public good consultancy. She has previous experience in office administration accounts.
