 SEAI Training Course – Energy Basics  – 18th September 2019

This course is targeted at a non-technical audience who want to learn the basics around energy usage.

It will give a high-level introduction to energy topics. Commonly used terms and technologies will be explained in plain English. The course will not focus on design or technical issues, but rather will provide a fundamental understanding of energy and energy efficiency issues. The aim is to provide attendees with the knowledge and confidence to start looking at their energy use and identifying ways of improving it.

Topics include brief introductions to the following:

Introduction to Energy
Energy Units and Terminology
Outline of Ireland’s National Energy Consumption Patterns
Building fabric
Heat (e.g. boilers/heat pumps)
Lighting
Appliances/IT
Renewable Technologies
