STEPS Design For Safety in Battery Systems Symposium

March 12, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

- Free

As part of the Storage of Energy & Power Systems initiative (STEPS), supported by Interreg NWE, the University of Twente are hosting a symposium for the design for safety in battery systems. This is an online event on Friday March 12th from 1 pm to 5 pm. Registration is open now and available here.

For more information on the Design for Safety in Battery Systems Symposium see below. For more information on the STEPS projects and how 3cea are involved see here.

University of Twente (UT)

Batteries play a vital role in energy storage applications. Because of this, it is important to give special attention to the battery pack which acts as a heart for the energy storage system. The University of Twente as a knowledge partner in the STEPS project, has organised a symposium to create awareness about safety considerations when designing energy storage. This symposium will offer practical advice for designing a battery pack. The speakers will cover areas such as; important information about grid-connected energy storage systems, safety guidelines and recommendations, and advice on potential hazards one could encounter when using these systems.

Programme and Speakers

The symposium will begin with two successive introduction presentations from University of Twente by Professor Braham Ferreira. Following this, will be four presentations made by industry professionals and academics. Finally, the symposium will conclude with a panel discussion. The time slots for each speaker can be seen below.
