Take a look at our Home Energy Upgrade Stories, as homeowners who participated in past schemes share their experience of undergoing a home energy upgrade project of their own.
Eddie’s home energy upgrade story was featured in The Sunday Times recently. The article shows Eddie’s home transformation and gives an insight into how he achieved such a major home improvement project.
A home energy upgrade project increases the energy rating in a home through the implementation of multiple measures. These measures can include upgrading of insulation, installing ventilation systems, replacement of windows or doors, and the use of renewable technologies such as solar panels and heat pumps. A combination of energy upgrade measures will provide a better energy rating for your home. The better the energy rating, the warmer and more comfortable your home will be.
Multiple energy upgrades are recommended (3-5 measures) to gain a warmer home. Some of these works typically include:
If you only require 1 or 2 energy upgrades, please visit the SEAI website for an alternative grant funding scheme.
3cea work in the South East region and surrounding areas.
If you are outside of this general area, please visit the SEAI website to find a project coordinator who operates near you.
We are currently inviting homeowners to apply for funding for energy upgrade projects under the National Home Retrofit Scheme. If your home is built before 2006 and you are interested in implementing multiple energy upgrades to improve your home, you will be eligible for funding under the National Home Retrofit Scheme.
Funding will be provided to projects which demonstrate a comprehensive strategy to significantly improve their home energy performance. Homes must meet the minimum standard of a B2 BER after the completion of works or an improvement of 100 kWh/m²/yr. This means if your home is already at a C1 BER before the energy upgrades, it must then meet a B1 BER standard.
To apply, simply fill out our Homeowner Form and a member of our housing team will be in touch.
3 Counties Energy Agency has almost 10 years’ experience in coordinating energy upgrade projects for homeowners. That ensures a quality energy upgrade focus for our clients. We have helped complete energy upgrades on more than 2,500 houses as well as 500 deep retrofits since 2012.
We can project manage the entire process for clients – from your initial application right through to completion and sign-off.
Once on the One Stop Shop Journey, 3cea will ensure you get peace of mind and ultimately gain a comfortable and energy efficient home.
There will be a fixed fee for Stage 1 & 2, while there will be a % fee for Stage 3.
Stage 1 – €595 (ExVAT)
Stage 2 – €1,400 (ExVAT)
Stage 3 – 7.5% of total cost of works (range €1,500 – €4,500 depending on costs of works)
Homeowners can end the journey at any stage and will only be liable for fees for the stage they leave on.
As this is the first year of this scheme, costs can be difficult to determine. However, this scheme is similar to SEAI’s Deep Retrofit programme and the key findings of that scheme highlights similar costs associated with multiple home energy upgrades.
Please note that all homes require a pre- and post-works Building Energy Rating (BER) to be completed and published.
Fossil fuel boilers are not supported in any way by this scheme and their installation is actively discouraged by SEAI.
SEAI reserve the right to conduct 100% pre works inspection of all domestic sites in advance of any contract award.
Public bodies must comply with public procurement.
Every contact is important to us. Before we can help with your project, please fill out this short form and a member of our team will get back to you.
