IrBEA Bioenergy Webinar Series – Sustainable Bioenergy

Irish Bioenergy Association (IrBEA) will host the fourth instalment of the Bioenergy Webinar Series discussing Sustainable Bioenergy

On Wednesday the 22nd of July, IrBEA will run the fourth edition of their webinar series which highlights various topics in the bioenergy space. This coming episode will discuss the topic of sustainable bioenergy, and in particular, how to achieve carbon neutrality and compliance with RED II.

In this webinar, Secretary General, Jean – Marc Jossart of Bioenergy Europe, will share his expert knowledge and insights into the bioenergy sector. He will discuss how the sector will contribute to the Renewable Energy Directive II (RED II). RED II aims to achieve a 32% renewable energy target by 2030. The EU’s recently published European Green Deal will also be addressed in this webinar as it has an aim to become a climate neutral continent by 2050. What role will bioenergy have to ensure this is achievable?

Stakeholders from bioenergy and renewables sector gathered in Croke Park for major bioenergy conference

The IrBEA (Irish Bioenergy Association) National Bioenergy Conference looked at several opportunities to expand Ireland’s bioenergy sector – including opportunities for agriculture in terms of on-farm bioenergy.

The purpose of the conference, and of IrBEA itself, is to serve the renewable heat agenda by improving access to Irish biomass supplies, enabled by improvements to the biomass supply chain infrastructure from mobilisation of the private forestry supply, and also the promotion of energy crops.

Our CEO Paddy Phelan & the Vice President of  IrBEA, opened the event on the 26th of February in Croke Park, Dublin.
